Alice Southby was the daughter of Charles Southby (1752-1834) and Alice Burch Gleed, of West Isley (which is why they were staying at that location in 1851). He was, in turn, the son of Richard Southby (1711-1752) and Frances-Elizabeth Head, son of Richard Southby (1677-) and Naomi, son of Richard Southby (1647-) and Elizabeth, son of Robert Southby (1604-) and Anne Mayott, son of Richard Southby (1570-) and Jane Keate.
